Hindsight's 2020

Today’s the day restrictions bend,
New days dawn my friends.
It’s been a while, we’ve stormed some trials
And triumphed in the end.
We’ve learnt to run and draw and clap,
All sorts of things for fun!
Let’s not forget those simple tasks,
Like reading in the sun.
Society seems so united-
In garden, on phone or zoom.
It’s safe to say we’re all excited
To leave our living room.
Now let’s give hugs to all we find
See family, friends and more.
Lest we forget to all be kind,
And our animals from land to shore.
Just one last thing before we’re free-
We know the lessons are plenty.
Let’s stay aware, present and humble,
For hindsight’s 2020.

A poem written in the depths of lockdown, longing for the end to come.
I know we're not there yet and a new world awaits us, but hope is beaming and there is a light at the end of the tunnel.
Many lessons have been learnt and the changes are going to plenty.
Stay safe guys and keep striving forward in the most positive way you can.
